A great compilation of Jean-Michel Jarre. A terrible quality of the audio mixing/mastering!
This review is strictly for the product, the eBay transaction was great. This Jean-Michel Jarre's album was the first one that left me disappointed (and I have around 25 of his albums). The selection of tracks is great. But the final mastering is awful! Everything is so compressed/limited, that it sounds like garbage. First I thought that my volume knob was at max. But lowering the volume and trying a different track didn't help - it still sounded "dirty". So I loaded one track that I knew pretty well (Arpegiator) into an audio editor, and there was the horror! The track is so compressed that it's basically a line at the max level, no dynamics! Unlike the original track from "The Concert in China" album, that was properly mixed/mastered. And the whole Planet Jarre album is like that - compressed beyond belief! I wish they would do a proper mastering for this album, and replace the one I have been sold...Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
