You have the flexibility of canning either eight 1-pint jars or seven 1-quart containers in one session. You can fit the canner in a box for storage that is 15 inches wide, 15 inches high, and 16 inches long. The canner takes up less space if it is disassembled. If you store the canner completely assembled without a box, expect it to stand 12 inches high and span 18 inches from handle to handle. The canner only uses about 80% of the energy that would be used if you preserved your items via the traditional stovetop method. The water boils for the duration of the processing time you set. Be sure to increase the processing time if you live at higher altitudes. The entire system is electric, so you can free up your stovetop for other uses. An ingenious addition to this canner is the spigot. Along the side of the pressure cooker is a basic spigot that allows you to drain out your canning water when you’re done. When you aren't canning, use this pressure cooker as a makeshift drink dispenser. You can serve hot drinks to your guests while entertaining. Looking forward to many years of use.
Well made and multi functional. It was time to retire my enameled canning pot as it had rust spots and the rim was almost coming off. When we went looking at new pots to get a really good one that would last it was very pricey. We had also decided to finally get a propane burner to can outside. Then I came across this Ball water canner in my searches and decided I wanted one. It was about the same cost as buying both pot and burner with the advantage of not needing propane, and would take up less space. So far I'm not disappointed. I love that it comes apart for easy cleaning and that everything stores inside with room for my jar lifter & lid wand. I think that if I remove the spout each time I store it, there'll be less chance of it breaking off. I made a batch of pepper jam and liked that the steam went out the kitchen window it was placed in front of, instead of heating up the house. When finished I just opened the spout and the water emptied fairly quick down the sink. I did have to tilt it to completely empty but that was much easier than emptying my old pot.

Fantastic canning essential!
I have had one of these for about 10 years and love it. It has made canning so much easier. Now that I’m older and have had 3 back surgeries, I can’t carry heavy pots of water to and from the stove. With this I don’t have to. I set it up by the side of my sink and since my faucet has a pull down feature I can easily fill it then drain it without ever having to move it when full. I liked it so much that I bought this one for my niece since I couldn’t find it anywhere else. She was thrilled when she got it. Very helpful appliance and solid investment
This is my second purchase after I damaged previous unit. We have limited counter space in small kitchen and glass top stove. Unit is set up right next to sink with spigot over sink. I easily fill with water to get ready and discharge directly into sink when done. Stove left free for other uses. Being handicapped also, I’m free of dealing with heavy pots of boiling water. Electric Water Bath Canner
What a great product. I have canned over 300 jars with this nit in the last 4 months. Using this frees up all of the stove burners and I have found it very convenient as I set it up next tot he sink and with the drain, you don't have to lug a heavy pot of water around to set up or to clean up after use. The only drawback is the recovery time when it is loaded before it comes to a boil. About even with an electric stovetop but slower than a gas stove or burner.
