A unique product, but bittersweet quality
Metra 99-7803G is a compromise. 'On paper', it sounds like it is the total answer to upgrading from the oem head unit. Pros: Finish & looks blend in very well with the dashboard. Moves your aftermarket head unit to a comfortable viewing level in the dashboard. Metra's replacement HVAC controls look/blend in well. Cons: The supplied instructions, lack a lot of detailed information on installation & HVAC operation. The supplied wiring harness was the cheapest quality I've seen from Metra in 30+ years (the pins actually bent in the connector). The price is too much for what you actually getting. A fair price would be around $120 shipped. Given the R&D cost, I understand that it's not going to be less than $100, but if they were to put in a little more effort into the instructions & a better quality harness, this has the potential to be a great product. Be aware that some cutting of the sub dash is necessary to fit it in the dash properly. I mounted my Pioneer head unit in the bottom slot of the double DIN opening, since I a foldout unit. This way I can still see the HVAC display with my screen out. I installed the included storage pocket above the head unit. Buy the optional replacement lower pocket to replace the factory storage pocket, otherwise the 99-7803G kit will interfere.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Overpriced but works well.
The product fits well and everything seems to work well. I installed in a 2005 Honda Accord, not duel AC. My only criticism is that it seems expensive for what you get and I have some concern that the plastic sleeves that hold the music unit will not hold up over time. We'll see.
