Great price. Second ST51 I've purchased and they sound great at a bargain price. Solidly built, true condenser rather than electret. Only thing that would make it nicer would be having a low roll off switch, bu you need o get the ST55 to have that feature.I like he discrete components rather than SMD. Overall solid sound with crisp highs and good presence..

This mic came recommended by my voice-over coach/mentor. It's been years since I've done VO work and I'm reviving an old skillset after years of doing other things. This particular mic amplifies the highs in my vocal timbre while maintaining rich lows -- perfect for brightening a mature woman's voice. It makes recording to get the sound quality I need that much easier! My coach was on point!

I purchased this mic for recording hip hop vocals after using a usb condenser for a year. I purchased this mic used and I am astonished by the value and performance. This is one of the best mics I've used (I have used a few pro mics that were obviously better, but this one isn't far off). The mic gives a natural and distortion free playback. Take note that this mic requires phantom power to function which is available on most mixers and preamps. I personally use a Lexicon Lambda preamp and it is great. The St51 is definantly worth the money and I heard around the block that many others love this mic also, it is good for many music genres.
Clear sound.. Noise floor is not good for pro studios I wish a low cut..but for the price is not braint

I am a self-taught audio engineer and musician. I have worked in digital recording studios. I tested the Sterling Audio ST51 side-by-side with my Shure KSM32. I really didn't hear any difference between the two. It's pretty "no frills" - no pad, no LF rolloff, no switchable polar patterns - but it seems to be a quality mic, especially for the $$. They sell for $99.00 new, I got mine for $51.00 on eBay.
Hello: My whole life I have worked in Audio, more precisely since the year 1970. Since 1995 I started my first Recording Studio in my Country, Uruguay, now have my Studio here in Hollywood, Florida. These experiences have given me the opportunity to evaluate many microphones. I'm no expert but guided me through the years of experience and respect to ST-51 Sterling microphone I can assure you that the monetary cost and performance that has what I consider a diamond. It is highly crystalline, despite not having a control pattern, shows an extremely loyal sensitivity at all frequencies without being too extreme. I love it. For that price I will get another microphone of this kind.
For the price, the mic is decent. Haven't really used it much yet but it sounds alright from what I can tell. Did come with some minor marks on it from what I'm assuming was a shock mount but that's it. Good price too

At first I was not sure about these mics, but after using them for just a little, I became truly impressed. This mic sounds great on a vocal and as overheads on drums. It has enough body to bring out the toms and plenty of highs to capture the cymbals. I would recommend this mic to anyone wanting a good mic for a great price.
This mic was listed as "for parts or not working". This is one of the best not working mics you can buy. Buy with confidence.
