I had previously only used large oxy/acet bottles. This smaller unit worked well I was able to use MAPP gas to reach a good temperature for brazing. The flame is slightly longer than and acetylene flame but still very usable. You could adjust the flame well a slightly carburising for brazing works best for my application and would recommend this unit for small work, Hobby, jewellery, craft work as an alternate to the expense of rental cylinders which is very expensive now and I think I will find that the savings from that will pay for the new regulators quite quickly. You could do a larger repair with it say silver brazing a 1/2 copper pipe in a tight area where the other bottles simple won't go, but of course a dozen joints would probably pull it up. I haven't tried it with propane yet but can see no reason why it shouldn't still work quite well and save about half the cost of MAPP gas without sacrificing to much heat. A good set up and I would recommend to anyone trying to get rid of the rental of the larger setups, the rental saving alone will pay for your gas this way. It's a great product and I am glad I bought it.Read full review
