  • Compelling author

I have recently discovered this author and I love his stories. Iron Lake is the first in a series featuring ex sheriff, Cork O'Connor. I also recommend his latest stand alone novel, This Tender Land. Great read.

  • Good and interesting story with believable characters

I like this author. This is his first novel, some years back, but you can already see his sensitivity and perceptiveness about people. Especially poignant are the scenes with the protagonist's oldest daughter. Beautifully depicted.

  • Cork O'Connor is a good crime mystery set in Minnesota

Good thriller/mystery novel with a little philosophy thrown in. But what drove me to read this book was his book Ordinary Grace. I will try another of his Cork O'Connor books, but I want a little more realism and a little less amazing turns of events to save the hero and solve the crime.

  • Engrossing story.

I have actually read all of William Kent Krueger's books except 'Lightning Strike' and ordered 'Iron Lake' as a gift to another reader.
