To replace identical 'dead' phones
We have had this model of phone for several yrs and we really like them. After 5+ years of use, 2 developed problems. 1 just died, the display on one went blank. I assume the chip that drives it died. I had to d-register these "new" phones from their Momma [Base] and register them to our Base. Both bases work but our has our voice mail greeting and there's no reason to swap them. If old one goes bad, we will use the newer one. So for now we have extra charging stations, an extra base and working phone. We had other wireless phos [G.E.] and they just weren't nearly as good. The Panasonic's have excellent sound and feel nice in the hand. I also really like that they use easily replaceable AAA rechargeable batteries! Many phones use hard to find and much more costly batteries. I've found that nicads need t/b replaced about every 5 yrs. So for a few bucks we are back in business with good wireless phones [we have a total of 6 which us what it came with new]. BillVerified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

The base unit appears to function proper...
The base unit appears to function properly with a new product appearance. Unfortunately, all the handsets were still registered to the non-functional base and could not be unregistered, as they were unable to connect to the old base unit. I could find no information online instructing me how to unregister a handset without being connected to a base. At first I was worried. I had transferred the batteries from the handset whose buttons had stopped working, to this one, and it didn't seem to hold a charge. When I switched them out, using batteries from a different handset, it worked fine. I bought a new set of batteries, and everything worked well after that.
