Intel Core 2 Duo E4700 SLALT 2.6Ghz CPU
I have been using a much slower C2D E4300 and it worked very well for an old Vista system which was surprising considering it was only 1.80Ghz. The C2D E4700 beats it stupid, and I'm very happy with the jump in performance! I suppose as Intel chips go it's the top of the line up in C2D 800fsb processors. All this on a 800fsb board with Windows 7 64 bit (supported). It still has a maximum allowed memory at 2Gb by the board. 4Gb works but only alloweable to around 3.72Gb. I'd like to have 2 sticks of 4Gb running dual channel for the Windows 7 but it's a vintage or antique as PCs go being a 2006 and not worth anymore upgrading. Decidedly worth the swap to the C2D E4700.
