I bought this old D-Link version DUB-H7 USB hub, silver / gray color because of the internal chipset used. My rating is not applicable to the newer black version which also is labeled with the DUB-7H model number. My use case favored the old model that uses the Phillips NXP ISP1521 USB controller chip. This is a true 7 port controller with power management capability. That chip is only used in the older gray/silver colored model. I do not think it is manufactured anymore. New DUB-7H models use a different type and model of chip. Several of the chips in this old DUB-7H model are rated to -40C operating temperatures. Far lower than the usual 0C rating most chips have. As I use this in an unheated area I needed good specifications. D-Link does not rate this device for low temperatures but I have found it to work well for its price. Read full review

Finally some peace in knowing I got a usb splitter hub that works as expected with zero issues to speak of. Cheaper hubs/splitters dont necessarily allow more than one peripheral to work at a time, which renders them useless, so it’s important to spend a few extra bucks and get one like this DLink hub that performs as advertised.
