Excellent, top quality gas cap!
I was very impressed by how easy it opens! Only about a 1/4 turn of the key, then not much more turning the cap and it pops right off! Not like those cheap metal caps. Decent quality materials, poor fit.
Ordered this same part number for my Hummer H3. I had purchased this same Stant part number almost a decade ago and lost the cap recently. This new one looks completely different and doesn’t fit nowhere near as tight. When it is in the locked position it just kind of free wheels and flops around loosely. Hasn’t set off a service light yet so I guess it’s ok, but the old Stant locking cap I had sealed tightly like the OE non-locking gas cap. It does look nice and appears to be of decent quality as far as materials used, but it just doesn’t fit as nice as the older version. This same cap is also rebranded from versions I tried out from Advance and Autozone. The only real positive I like is that Autozone sells a tether kit that fits perfectly on this cap whereas the Stant cap I had before eliminated the factory tether.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

For piece of mind and prevention of fuel theft, highly recomended.
This locking gas cap seems to be of a fairly solid design; it is sturdy and seems to fit well, the only minor issue is that it is difficult to tell if it is actually sealing and is awkward to tell if its on correctly. However, if it weren't properly sealing there would be an error code sent to the computer which would light the check engine light through the obdII computer system. So as far as that is concerned it appear to be a decent cap and I do recommend it, especially with the price of gas being as it is this cap will prevent the easy theft of your fuel and also prevent anyone from "sabotaging" your fuel supply with contaminants.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Excellent locking gas cap for 2008 Chevy Malibu...
This is a great way to secure your gas on your 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu... Since the fuel door doesn't lock and anyone can open it with a simple push! I purchase this item because my original gas cap was releasing fume smells from the worn out sealing gasket on the gas cap! Preforms better than expected.
I wanted to lock my gas cap due to several kids in my neighborhood lurking around after dark. One of those kids living behind me was outside and saw me install the locking gas cap. Then I turned around and gave him a grin before he went back inside his house. I just wanted him to know his days of stealing my gas are over. Cap works fine, even while fueling up at the station. Application Concerns.
Used on my Chev Silverado and within a few hours I got a Service engine light. Auto Zone checked the Codes and found the cap did not seal properly for this application and had to remove it.
