The combination of in-depth character customization and in-game control, support for four local or network players, a good number of levels with multi-cultural influences, physics-based challenges, and the ability to build one’s own levels or play someone else’s with the possibility of achieving the same level of quality as the official levels make for a game with precious few comparisons. The included content packs on the disk only make it better.

Game came in a very broken case! Terrible. Said slight damage. It was cracked and pieces everywhere. Game plays sometimes and sometimes it doesn't.

LittleBigPlanet has received wide critical acclaim from reviewers. The first major publication to review LittleBigPlanet was the UK edition of PlayStation Official Magazine. In their November edition they gave the game a score of 10/10 calling it "a beautifully elegant and powerful creative tool that puts unlimited potential in the palm of your hand".[113] Eurogamer scored the game 9/10. Reviewer Oli Welsh commented specifically on the game's "unforgettable visuals" and that the accurate lighting was "as total a realisation of high-definition as you'll see anywhere in games this year". He similarly praised the multiplayer gameplay as "a loosely-structured scrum of competition, collaboration and sheer, joyful mucking around". Speaking of the game's comprehensive creation and community tools in contrast with its classic platforming gameplay, he calls the game "the future and the past of videogames, rolled into one".[107] IGN (U.S.) scored it 9.5/10 and said the game was an "instant classic". The reviewer, Chris Roper, also suggested that the game may even be a reason to buy a PlayStation 3; "If you own a PlayStation 3, you cannot miss this. If you don’t have a PS3 yet, this is the reason to get one."[13] GamePro scored the game 5/5 and said that the real strength of the game "is the tremendous sense of freedom and creativity that it instils in you."[110] Edge gave it a 10/10 and said "It's a multiplayer riot, a visual landmark, a feat of engineering, and one of the most charming games ever made. But even those accolades are dwarfed by its scope, its potential, and the apparent endlessness of them both."[106] Ben "Yahtzee" Crowshaw said "[The Sackboy character] looks like the result of a sinister military experiment to concentrate cuteness to a weaponized level..." in one of his Zero Punctuation reviews for the Escapist online magazineRead full review
Playing this game is still fulfilling to me to this day. Until now, I've only had the PSN demo to play with and it was great. Having the full game is even better. Although I'm mostly grown up now, playing the game satisfies any naïve tendencies I may feel from time to time.

Game came in great condition with the booklet in an expedient manner. I've been using it to introduce my child to a controller, and we've already shared a few great laughs.

I bought this game on PS3 a while back, but for some strange reason...I couldn't use any content I bought from the Playstation Network for it. Turns out, the original seller had sold me the EU version of the game without listing that anywhere on their details. I decided I should buy the Game of The Year edition. It came with so much extra content that I still have yet to try it all out. I usually bring the game with me over to friend's houses, I've yet to meet anyone who doesn't love it! The quirky nature, and easy to grasp game-play mechanics make the game truly accessible to any audience. The Game of the Year content adds a lot of extra time to the gameplay, including the Paintinator gun, which literally allows you to paint on your surroundings while playing. The Online capabilities are awesome. I love the fact that I can jump right into a game with three other players without having to wait in lobbies or pick teams. All in all, a great game, with ever-expanding content that will keep me busy for a long time to come!Read full review
I thoroughly enjoy this game, and it is one of my girlfriend's favorite games on the PS3. She wanted to try something similar enough to Mario on the Nintendo, and this was Sony's very compelling response. Great platforming graphics, and customizability. Definitely reccomend giving it a try. Also a free demo on the PS3 store if you want to test it out before making the purchase.

Arrived super quick, and the game itself is great! 10/10, might get this game again with a newer print (if that exists) so it matches the rest of my collection.

I've played games since the Sega Master System days and have played games of many different genres. The one type of game that I don't like that much is FPS. Otherwise I'll play most things if they are good. I'm not the type of gamer that needs fast paced action either all the time but this game was a bit disappointing for me and my girlfriend (who has also played for a long time). We couldn't really put our finger on it but we had the feeling as if something was lacking. It doesn't have a certain feel that other platformers like Mario have in a way. Or maybe it's the gameplay itself which doesn't feel as polished or refined as let's say old Sonic and Mario games. The jumping and the different levels of depth don't seem to be up to the task for serious platforming for example. This coupled with the fact that the media seemed to praise this as a masterpiece made it feel a bit bland when you kind of get the repeating feeling to have seen it all after a few levels. Still I do play it now and then, just not as much as I expected considering my taste in games. So the score is not bad but not amazing either for us personally.Read full review
Safe for kids of all ages and filled with lots of fun and challenging levels. If you enjoy side scrolling games like the original or even the New Super Mario Brothers you'll find this game fun. Some levels are tough so you'll be playing them over and over to get 100% completion. Some levels require 2 people to play certain areas of a level to get 100%. The higher your percentage score the more items you'll get to customize your sack person or your own levels. The unique aspect of this game is the ability to design and upload your own levels. This gives the game some more hours of playability since you can download other people's levels. My wife and 2 year old play this game more than I do and spend about 2 hours playing it at a time. Not as complex and difficult as Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 but worth checking out if you want a simple and fun game to play. If you want more excitement and challenge try inviting up to 3 friends along to play with you and enjoy the mayhem.Read full review
