Classic version of Madden that allows me to use the legendary Trent Edwards to lead the Buffalo Bills to a Super Bowl.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I loaded this game, ( I hadn't played Madden since 07), and was dumbfounded to discover this game looks exactly like ESPN NFL 2K5, for cryin' out loud. Seriously. The gameplay just isn't as smooth. This game totally sucks. EA sports can make any game suck, and usually do, but with Madden they hold no suckery back. I can say nothing good about this game. It all blows. There's no tournament mode, the create a team feature has been reduced to roughly 8 logos, highlighted by everyone's favorite, the killer bees. The create a player feature offers you a truly disturbing and limited array of faces, then proceeds to feature these ghastly faces in every cut scene. "Oh, look, there I am with my massive helium head and seaweed hair style getting off the team bus....oh no, it seems I put my helium head on crooked back at the motel! Oh well, I'll just keep walking forward while it tries to wrench itself off my neck and go in a new direction." But hey, the EA people did put a lot of effort into making the kick meter a total MFing pain in the ask Madden, and went all out on the sound track. You've got the usual NFL tunes, you know "Ramblin' man from Gramblin'" stuff, and they also feature Ozzie Osborne and Queen. What?!?! Yes, I too want to rock and roll all night and party every day on a crazy train, but not with this POS game. Back to hoops with the fine folks at 2K.Read full review

The last version I had was Madden 08 and this is a lot better. The pros: Graphics are great. Theyve done a great job on the players and the stadiums. Ive only messed around with it in one game but the audible selection is pretty cool as well. QB vision is no longer which I really like. The fact that the QB can place the ball, whether you want it long or outside of the reciever, this is a good feature. The cons: The menus are hard to follow. It took me 4-5 tries to find create a player. Trading in franchise mode is tough as well. The interested will be high in the green but the other team will still reject it. The new feature to "speed up the game" is boring. The coach speaking into the mic every play gets old too. Theres probably a way to turn it off, Ill just have to look for it. Paying for online play. This is CRAP!!! I pay enough for the game already and XBOX live. Like Microsoft and EA needs more money from us fans. Conclusion: Compared to Madden 08, Madden 11 is like comparing Sega to an XBOX 360. I wish they would have kept the single reciever autibles but hey, you cant get everything. I dont buy these games back to back and I would recomend the same for most others. All and All a good game so far.Read full review
There’s no question that the gameplay in Madden NFL 11 is great at its core, but some of the AI tuning slants the game too heavily in the offense’s favor. Both Online Team Play and the inclusion of Gus Johnson are fantastic and add a lot to the package, but I can’t help but feel that the moneymakers of old have been cast into the darkness. I think it’s clear that this year’s Madden is geared toward the mainstream football fan; someone who just wants to come in after playing a game of catch outside and get their hands on some real NFL talent. For that audience Madden NFL 11 delivers. However, if you’re the type of player who sits alone in your living room combing the free agent wire for a player to add to your beloved franchise, I think this year’s Madden is going to leave something to be desired. 8.5 Presentation Gus Johnson coupled with the cool new Super Bowl presentation and replay elements help bring the look of this year’s broadcast closer to Sunday than ever. 8.5 Graphics Player details are solid and the animation work on the field just keeps getting better and better every year. Moments of slowdown during some graphical transitions are a downer. 8.0 Sound Gus is a great addition, but they need to re-work the technology running under the hood so his dialogue isn’t so fragmented. Soundtrack could be more imaginative. 8.5 Gameplay It’s a great game of football at its core, some of the AI decisions are more annoying than helpful. The added offensive firepower might please mainstream players, but it will upset hardcore fans. 7.5 Lasting Appeal Madden’s typically deep Franchise Mode has been totally left out in the cold. Online Team Play is great, but it’s not the rock hard, never-ending activity that Owner and Franchise Mode once were. 8.0 OVERALL ImpressiveRead full review
Very Fluid movements, great graphics, Move realistic and got rid of the turbo style button, it goes off of momentum now. It's hard quarterbacking when you go from playstion to xbox as the passing game depends on button recognition but I'll deal with it over time. One thing i was really let down by to the Lack of training camp upgrades you can earn in the preseason. That was almost my favorite part of the game and with that lacking kinda takes the soul out of the team you are slowing upgrading and creating. They got rid of the Fight for the ball fumble feature. The pregame cinematics are pretty cool! Sadly Overall i would prefer madden 10
