Longest lasting lipstick EVER!
LipSense has made a lifetime customer out of me! I recv'd my order on Friday and had a double birthday party to go to Saturday. The party was a crawfish boil - a first for me - and the perfect time to try out this unbelievable lipstick. I read the instructions (after all, you can't complain if you are the reason for failure) and applied the stain in one direction, three times. There is a definite isopropyl alcohol smell & feel with each application, but nothing unbearable, and there was absolutely no discomfort. The color (Peace Pink) went on flawlessly with the sponge applicator and I topped it off with Glossy Gloss. I tucked the gloss in my pocket for touch ups, but left the color at home. Side note - we left for the party at 3pm. I had some bottled water and a cocktail, popped into the restroom to check my lipstick. Still perfect! Then crawfish were ready. They were delicious & mildly spicy - lots of water while eating and plenty of napkin wiping of my mouth. After devouring an entire platter I went in to wash up - and my lipstick was still perfect! I applied some gloss & went back out to the party. The Sweet 16 birthday girl & her friends played the Diet Coke/Mentos game and then Chubby Bunny. After that they decided to have the adults play! I played both games (I won Chubby Bunny after cramming 9 marshmallows in my mouth) and let me tell you, it was MESSY! Lots of laughing, spitting, drooling, marshmallow-packing fun. Afterwards I went in to clean up, and can you believe it? MY LIPSTICK WAS STILL PERFECT!!! I applied a light coat of gloss & headed back out, looking fabulous. We got home around midnight and my lipstick was still 100%! I don't think I'll ever buy any other lipstick from now on, and I plan to buy my oldest daughter the starter kit (minus the Oops - we use JASON natural remover that works just fine.) very soon.
The very minor negatives are;
1. The gloss is slightly tacky (extremely mild feel) but for the most part slick enough to allow the wearer to rub their lips together effortlessly. It DOES NOT get sloppy or travel anywhere other than when you apply it, so that benefit alone WAY outweighs the minor tacky feel.
2. The isopropyl alcohol smell & feel is strong during application. Now my mom is a nurse, so I'm no stranger to alcohol, but some people might not like it. The smell & feel is brief, however. It's over as soon as the lipstick dries & you put on your gloss. It's worth taking a chance, since LipSense backs their product 100% and will issue a full refund if you're not satisfied.
3. My first encounter with LipSense was an online party. The rep posted many photos of women in different shades as well as the catalog on the hostesses Facebook page. I just went straight for the catalog. I reached out to the rep with the colors i wanted to order, and she told me I could only order from the photos of women she'd posted (chaotic process, to say the least, since these posts were sporadic and in great numbers), not the catalog. She said the colors I'd picked from the catalog were "out of stock." The rep & the hostess then began sending me similar and completely different alternate suggestions. I asked to please just let me know when what I asked for was back in stock. Rep basically told me it could be tomorrow, it could be never. And that I should just pick something else. ? So I went online to eBay, plugged in "LipSense Nude," and dozens of product populated! I gave the rep one more chance, letting her know what I found, and she eluded to it being "old stock." I can tell you everything I recv'd was absolutely fresh, sealed and perfect. The "Peace Pink" which was "Army Pink" in the catalog, even had new name label.
So, if you find a shade you want and your rep says it isn't available, don't settle. Spend a little time & find a rep that'll go the extra mile and provide you with what you want.
Thanks "Kiss This" from Neosho, MO! You're the BEST!
