Not as good as the PC version but not a total loss. This game was rushed so it could be released with the 32x and it really shows. The game has been cut down to play in a small window. The game might have been able to do full screen with enough time. The main thing they left out was sound. The sounds are very low resolution and the music is even worse. The controls are sloppy. For instance circle strafe uses the same button to open doors and interact with objects, you just hold it down longer. If you open a door and hold down the button a split second too long, around you go. For all it's faults it's still Doom, you just have to pretend your on a very old dos machine with a crappy midi port game pad.

Amazing game, if you like your sega genesis, and you have 32x inside - this is a game to see power of this combo. Dynamic and very speed and very very playable, not like other first 3d shooters on consoles was slow and unplayable. 17 levels, great weapons, amazing enemies, so much enemies that you can`t count. Be ready for a lot of gore, a lot of gore ! And make sure that you have sega six button controller, otherwise could be difficult to play (witch additional buttons you change weapons and open a fully functional map, what is very important because levels are huge) Only DOOM feels like this, the unforgettable atmosphere from this game you can`t find in other game (ok in DOOM2 too;). For sure you can grab it on every system, but if you play it on sega 32x you can`t believe that this is possible ! Mega playable game !Read full review
Doom is the great great great granddaddy of first person shooters. If you like fps and haven't played a version of Doom, I can't help you. This game is the classic bloody gutsy mess you should all remember or expect. The game itself is loads of fun. However, the 32x version is one of the worst home ports available. There is music included in this version, but don't expect much. The graphics, better than only the SNES version, are at a lower resolution than the other more PC faithful console ports of this game, and the game isn't full-screen. Instead you have this weird border around the screen so the actual game is only 3/4 of your television with the rest being that border. This game is also missing the most PC levels of any console Doom port. This obviously was rushed to be out for the Sega 32x's launch. However, the game itself is good fun if your into more mature fps. Buy this game only if you have to get a 32x version for your retro collection or if you need to play Doom on your 32x. Its like 3$, so it isn't expensive. I'll stick with Atari Jaguar Doom or better from now on thoughRead full review
I bought this game because i once had it as a teenager. As stuff from childhood goes, it seemed a lot better back then. I still enjoy playing it today hence the reason i bought it again. This version is on par with other ports of the day. The PC version of course blows all the others away. The PS1 version is very good as well. I wish developers had some more time with the 32x. Probably could of made some decent games.
A fun game to play with different levels of difficulty, thank you.

Fans of the game will live the 32x version. Next to PC, this is the best version of the game. It's a classic and looks great on the Sega 32x
