The pin driver and the pin receiver appears to be made of hardened steel, its body is cast and its levels are steel. It is of as similar quality to that used in a number of home workshop cycling tool kits.

Simple to use. The chain breaker comes with a thumb-adjustable screw, which appears to allow you to stop the breaker from pushing the link pin completely out. This would probably be useful if you were splitting multiple chains, as you could use the first one to determine exactly where to set the screw.
