Product Information

Mattel’s 1997 Water Lily Barbie doll is inspired by artist Claude Monet's iconic painting, which makes her appealing to both fans of fashion and fans of classic art. Barbie's shiny blonde hair is styled in a generously sized bun with long ringlets cascading down her back and shoulder. Two pink taffeta flowers and a sassy blue streak polish off her whimsical water lily Barbie hairdo. The shape of her flowing gown is reminiscent of glimmering water, and the earthy colors on the dress are the exact shades found in Monet's painting. A three-layer ruffle starts at her right hip and goes to the bottom of the dress and around the back. Shimmering pink water lilies are scattered across the gown, and delicate beading is draped over her left shoulder and down the front of her dress.

My 7 year old Granddaughter described her as a "WATER LILY", knowing nothing of her name.
From the top of her hair to the bottom of her dress she is sheer perfection! each tiny flower sewn on her dress is perfect, the colors are mind blowing together. Her name describes her perfectly.

A romantically beautiful doll!
This is a limited edition doll from 1997; first in the Artists Series. She is absolutely gorgeous. Her hair is done in a romantic updo with a flowing ringlet coming down on the side. Her gown is just beautiful. The way it is made actually looks like the painting that inspired it. A true treasure; I am so proud to say that this doll is a part of my collection! If you are a doll collector, do your best to add this doll to your collection. You will not be disappointed!

Fantastic representation and synergy of Claude Monet and Barbie ~
I purchased this beautiful doll for my Niece Jamie, who is 11 now, along with 10 others ( so far ), and will be giving them all to her on her 13th birthday. My goal is to give her 25 carefully selected and hard to find Barbies. This Water Lily doll is absolutely gorgeous, and will surely be one of her favorites, as she loves Monet, as he is one of her favorite artists I've studied with her so far. I look forward to continuing to build her collection ( without her knowledge ), and presenting them all to her in two years. = ) Only the best~ Uncle Ian~
