  • Great UPS, but not your normal Home Office unit.

This is not your normal home office UPS. For a start, the power cord has a 15 amp plug which does not fit in a normal household (10 amp) power point. I bought an adapter which allowed me to connect this device to my home power point, but be warned. The reason it has a big 15 amp plug is because this is a big UPS and potentially could draw more than the allowed 10 amps! My adapter allowed the physical connection of that big plug into the smaller power point, but you must be sure you will not be trying to draw more than 10 amps through this unit in your home office. Secondly the output sockets on the rear of this UPS are not your typical Australian 3 pin power sockets. They are called IEC sockets (look it up) and I could not just plug in my computer, or anything else! Once again, I had to get some adapters with a male IEC plug on one end and an Australian 3 pin socket on the other. That allowed me to plug in my computer, etc. This should be made clearer, I think, although in fairness to the supplier, there was mention of the 15 amp plug somewhere in the fine print and I missed it. My fault. But now that I have all the right plugs and adapters, the unit is great. Yes, it IS a big unit and has the capacity to handle my new high powered PC plus various other peripherals. I could have made do with a smaller unit but I am happy this one has some spare capacity and a reasonable run time in the event of a mains failure. The company and their support have been nothing short of fantastic. Wholly recommended.
