NOT the Australian "Little River Band" - USA Band using the name. If you are looking for the sounds of LRB featuring Glenn Shorrock, Beeb Birtles and Graeham Goble or even John Farnham you are going to be disappointed. Their sounds are long gone from the band in these recordings. Sure the old songs are sung but not by the original LRB Australian singers. That said, American Wayne Nelson is now the lead singer and Wayne was a member of LRB back in the day joining in 1981 and he was the lead singer of LRB hit "Night Owls". Wayne also was a member of the John Farnham band in the mid to late 1980's on the "Whispering Jack" tour. He does a reasonable job as the current front man of the all USA membered LRB. He does "covers" of the original hits written and performed by Shorrock/Farnham/Goble/Briggs and Birtles. But the band falls well short of the "HIT" making artists. They are though some new songs that are easy listening and worth a listen. If you don't like other people singing the originals of any songs best to avoid these recordings. I personally like most and only cringe at a few. Wayne's song "Who Made The Moon" about his children who were involved in a major car accident where he lost his daughter is quite good. On these recordings there are differences between "The Night Owls" and "Night Owls" and I didn't hate either version. Anyway, it's hard to be anywhere near the original artists but they go pretty good having a good old fashion dig! For many though this is not the "real" Little River Band. Read full review
