  • A Diamond in the Rough Which Became a Great Classic in Film

Breakfast at Tiffany's is a genuine classic in world literature; colorful, lifelike, funny, and emotionally wrenching at times. Truman Capote crafted an original, rough diamond that was made into a huge and enchanting gem of a film. It's fun to trace creativity from its source to its near perfection. See the film first, to realize how timely it was. The 1950's and '60's were very eccentric and bubbling with energy, both creative and destructive. Capote was a vivid, realistic writer, and a real oddball to boot. Everyone who lived around his time knew a character like Holly Golightly; funny, beautiful, frustrating, irresponsible, and memorable. Shakespeare would have written about her if he could have.

  • Great stories from Truman Capote

The book has several stories, and I have only read the first -- "Breakfast at Tiffany's". Truman Capote was such a great writer, very efficient with his words but really painted a picture in the mind. The movie was great, and I wanted to read the book, before I realized that it was a short story, but I loved it even as much as the movie though the two are much different in many ways. I recommend to anyone of any age over 15 to read this story or any of Truman Capote's work, and you won't be disappointed. The book was in great condition as I received it, almost like new. I did try to find a lower price but wanted one in great condition and I am not disappointed that I purchased this one. The book cover does not look like the one pictured, and this was a little disappointing but I am still pleased. I think the one I received was the newer re-print of the book.
