Although on the lid of the proc it says E5645 (which BTW was very neat, without scratches or marks), when installed, the BIOS and OS report it is an E5649, which runs on a slightly higher frequency. I ordered this proc to pair it with an existing E5645 in a HP ProLiant DL380 G7, and was extra careful to order the same CPU, stepping, ID code etc. which it does match on the lid. In the end, the server booted fine, does not complain, and works with two different processors. I do not know if the extra MHz are utilizable, but it does not really matter, as I was expecting a slower CPU anyway. I am happy in the end.
