  • Easy to use scanner due to fairly straightforward software included

Using this scanner to digitize 35mm slides that are over 40 years old in some cases. Considering the condition of the slides after all the years the Canon 9000F does an adequate job of digitizing the slides. Some of the slides have a heavy orange tint and they are basically useless to try to create digital images via use of the scanner, there is only so much a scanner can correct. Using an Adobe Photoshop type editor to attempt to correct the color issues is not worth my time. The scanner is fairly fast compared to some others I have heard of in digitizing the slides, 4 at a time. I have around 2000 slides so it will be a very time consuming process to digitize all of them so I will review them using a slide viewer to see which ones I actually need to save via the scanner.

  • Nice scanner with bad software

The basic scanner is excellent - nice resolution although it's a bit noisy. The software is the problem. Canon has decided what you will want to do with the scanner and have structured the software accordingly. If you want to do something a little bit different, I think you can but it becomes a major battle fighting the defaults on the software. It is only intuitive if you have a twisted Canon mind - otherwise it's really difficult to adjust. On normal pics, the colors are great but on transparencies, they get washed out very easily. The base controls are not accessible for fine adjustment of exposure in scanning. Too smart means in practice not smart enough. The Epson scanning control software is MUCH easier to use.

  • Better than the Epson V600

This scanner is great and easy to use. I had the Epson V600 and the interface was ridiculous. Also, it kept cropping my photos for no reason. The canoscan scans the whole frame and I haven't had any issues.

  • I like it

Excellent color scans. The user interface is a bit clunky. My older HP and Epson scanners were easier to use. But new stand-alone scanners are apparently no longer being made. Among the existing ones this Canon is a good choice. I had to avoid Epson because my V550 (an otherwise sweet scanner) turned out to be incompatible with Windows 10 when I upgraded.

  • Hard to find quality, Windows 10 compatible

Good old mid-level scanner, antiquated software. Beautiful colors and detail scanning original watercolors. Driver works with Windows 10 - a minor miracle. Scans fast and quiet enough. They don't make them like this anymore at affordable price. Get it while you can.

  • Easy to use flatbed scanner with lots of features.

Works exactly as I had hoped it would. Down loaded the software off of the Cannon web site. Easy to use. One button scanning or use the software to enhance old pictures/negatives to suit you.

  • CanoScan

I was exceedingly pleased with this scanner. It can scan thick photos, negatives, and most odd things that you may want to scan with amazing quality. I had trouble getting the software working but after about 45 mins I had it working. Great product and worth every penny!

  • Outstanding Scanner

The Canon CanoScan 9000F color flatbed scanner is an outstanding scanner. The setup is easy, the resolution and ease of use is outstanding, and the scanning software is also excellent. I have used many scanners for documents and photos, and this scanner is the best. In this particular case it replaced another (older and much-used) same model scanner that finally failed.

  • Grateful for this CanoScan 9000F negative scanner!

This is a great scanner for the old negatives I've wanted to scan for decades. Photos my dad took from 1956 +. Most turned out great!

  • Good value for the money

Excellent value for about $100. Used to be $900 when new. Great decent resolution at 2400 dpi setting to scan old 35 mm negatives.
