    It's tool time

The WORX WG509 TRIVAC 3-In-1 Electric Leaf Blower/Mulcher/Vacuum with Metal Blade is slightly under powered. For the city, not to bad though. :-) Simple to use and put together. The directional nozzle works for me. I'm short. About 5'6". We have a Silver Tipped Maple tree, so- lot's of leaves, year after year. So actually keeping the leaves closer to the ground is also important. Not to bad. I haven't used the Mulcher yet, but, I'm hoping it will be as consistent as the leaf blower. Meaning easy to use with no break downs. For the money, I purchased the WORX WG509 TRIVAC 3-In-1 Electric Leaf Blower/Mulcher/Vacuum with Metal Blade as a refurbish. It does feel new, looks new and appears to operate new. I will give it about a month or so-. It's still clean up time. It arrived almost two days than expected, happy about that.

Beats a rake but not a game changer

I have been killing myself for the last 3 years trying to deal with a yard-full of mature trees that drop leaves from September through December. I had high hopes for the WG509. Unfortunately it fell a bit short of my expectations. First, the good. The price for a refurbished unit is great. Frankly, I don't even think these are refurbished but product over-runs. The unit had no scratches or any sign of wear whatsoever. I also bought the optional LeafPro (it is a must--do not try using the included bag it will fill up in 3 seconds) so that one can vacuum straight into a large garbage can. The LeafPro is also very reasonably priced. Both the WG509 and the LeafPro do work. With that said, the two in tandem aren't a miracle product. A pile of leaves takes quite awhile to scoop up. The unit frequently gets bogged down at the nozzle. One also has to be careful not to accidentally run over any mulch which can cause a terrible sound as it hits the blade. Worse is when mulch gets stuck and shuts the blade down (this happened to me 3 times in an hour--I had to unscrew the nozzle each time and use a pair of plyers to free the blade). Even very brittle mulch seems to cause problems. I don't really see the WG509 as a solution for a whole yard. I mainly use it in garden areas and between bushes/plants (probably because I also recently bought a used Yard Man push vacuum which looks like a lawnmower--also not a total game changer). I'd rate this puppy as a C+, it is useful but not something that will totally revolutionize the dreaded time I spend bagging leaves.

  • Worx WG509

I have owned this product for about six weeks and used it about as many times. I have found it to be quite useful and overall I am happy with my purchase. I have never owned/used this type of product before, so I don't know how it compares to a different brand or similar products. I choose this model because it seems to be the top of Worx product line and the design allows you to go from blower to vac with a simple turn of a knob and don't forget the METAL impellar. The vac/mulch function is it's best feature but it is not as powerful as I had hoped. Wet leaves require frequent unclogging. I had to develop a couple of techniques to reduce the frequency of clogging. I found that if I turned vac so the opening was up in the air and gravity feed clumps of leaves/debris into the opening, resulted in less clogging. Also, "stabbing" into a pile of leaves/debris sometimes worked better than standard vacuuming. I found blower function to be some what difficult to control and did not produce as strong an air stream as I was expecting (210 mph?). I think the vac exhaust produces a stronger air stream and sometimes use that instead (now if I could only find a attachment to extend it). I also purchased the WA4054 LeafPro Collection/bagging system, which I highly recommend. In fact, I have never used the small collection bag that comes free with the WG509. It's just to small for my needs. The WG509's ability to reduce leaves/debris 18:1 is certainly time and space saver. Like I said overall, I'm happy with it and hopefully will continue to use it for many years to come but still I'd like to try out the Black and Decker UltraPlus model just to see ...

  • Worx Electtric Trivac

The design of the Trivac, though techie, is not optimum. There is no way to separate the vacuum nozzle from the blower nozzle, and the blower is hidden under the much larger vacuum nozzle when you are using it. It also adds to the weight. Switching between vacuum and blower is a trivial flip of a valve handle. The variable motor speed settings are useful and a nice feature. The mulcher is very good. As a yard vacuum, I rate this tops. It is less than tops as a leaf blower compared with the Toro of the same 12 amp rating.

  • Old original version

I bought one of these years ago and it has the old plastic impeller which starts to wear down over time and you slowly loose power. Worx doesn’t sell just the impeller and want me to buy a whole new unit just for a modern metal impeller....not cool at all, so I’m looking for just the impeller as my unit itself is fine, just not as powerful as it used to be. I feel that WORX should do something to help us buyers of the old version get replacement impellers.🤔🥵

  • Worx TriVac

This is a nice light duty blower-vac for residential use. It is small, easy to assemble without tools, but can be quirky to use. The intake tube stays in place at all times and to use the blower you need to flip a large handle that will shift the discharge air between either the blower nozzle or the debris bag. This blower-vac is more primarily a vac that can also be used as blower instead of primarily a blower that can also be used as a vac. I use the vac function to keep my back porch and patio clean where using a blower would just make more of a mess. The same goes for cleaning leaves out of my garage using the vac where I don't want to shower my vehicles and tools with dirt if I used a blower. I especially like that it uses a cord, as I don't want to mess around with the added expense and trouble of batteries.

  • Good functional tool for leaves

Arrived quickly, well packaged. Easy to put together, nice large paddle to turn from vacuum function to blower. The leaves that blow down into my stairway were easy to vacuum and shredded in to tiny pieces that were easily emptied into a barrel. There is a shoulder strap on the vacuum bag but not one for the blower and it is a bit heavy for me. I have used it 2 times so although I gave it a yes on quality I am still not sure. small rocks sucked up into the vacuum made a loud noise and made the motor strain.

  • GETS A LOT OF WORK DONE IN A PRETTY BIG HURRY

Cleaned up my garage, courtyard and garden in about the time it used to take to get just one!! VACUUM and MULCHER worked well on loose leaves. It did a good job of differentiating leaves from rocks although small pebbles can be a hazard. The collection bag is carried close to the person so dust is a problem--be sure to wear good breathing protection. The BLOWER feature didn't seem useful. It comes from a small tube on the underside of the larger vacuum tube too far from the ground to do any good. OVERALL still worth the purchase for the VACUUM, MULCHING & COLLECTION

  • Overall a good tool

The tool has good suction and the metal mulcher is a must. The tool is made of quality materials and the controls are easy to operate. The only negative issue I have is with the bag, it is cumbersom and needs a better way to be attached to your body. The shoulder strap keeps falliong off especially as the bag gets fuller.

  • A great value.

Vacuum and mulcher are powerful and work great. Mine was a refurb so I got a great price and can't imagine finding anything that works so well at this price point. My only quibble is that it gets heavy pretty fast when using the bag. A nice feature would have been an additional handle on the back so that you can more easily use two hands.
