Can’t boil a kettle that has a 2000w draw, will continually cut out, also when it heats up and the fans kick in, the fans draw a huge amount of energy, they will drop the volts by an excessive amount. Say you had 12.2v showing on the gauge, when the fans kick in it will drop the volts to as low as7.4v and the low voltage alarm will go off then the unit would cut out, once the unit cuts out the volts would come up and the inverter will start and then the cycle would start again until the fans cuts in. A 3000watt inverter should handle a 2000watt appliance, it is running at less than 70% of its rated capacity. The only reason I purchased this item is so I could boil a jug of water when away on a camping trip, well it can’t do it!!
The description indicates the inverter is capable of supplying 3000 Wattts. My previous inverter, rated at 2700 Watts, would power most small 240 Volt AC appliances including 4 inch grinder, 8 inch power saw as well as low power appliances such as computer, Makita battery chargers etc.
This, new, replacement inverter will not supply anything with any sort of start-up current.
It is OK for for low power appliances. No good for any other applications. I have one that is useless to me, if you want it.,
Inverter works as per specs. Battery leads supplied are a little light, they get hot when loaded to close to full capacity of inverter. I had a heavy set of leads, tried them worked better, didn't get warm.
Starts up small induction motors to 1hp easily with 100Ah battery as suggested in description.
For that you need heavier battery cables than supplied and as short as possible.
