Longer battery life is helpful. It is easy to use and similar to the G6 in operation. Seems to be very accurate compared to the site sprinkler heads and other methods of reading the distance. The power cord is short and plugs in the back. Works great with club selector if you prefer in club selection assistance. I recommend it.

Good unit but sometimes the touch screen is not responsive and I don't know why they didn't make the scorecard reviewable like the G5 where you can see the scores for numerous holes on one screen. If you need to check that you didn't miss a score you have to page through each hole individually which is very time consuming and it makes it hard to correct a mistake. If I would have known they eliminated the score card review I wouldn't have bought it.

This product has been discontinued by Garmin and is no longer available. There have been great review of this product so thought I would buy one since its price was discounted. Product is great. Easy to use and accurate. I have only used it now about 4 times, but I love it. Great for use on a course that you have never played before to figure out the layout and distance to hazards.

I like the G8, I don't need the added features of the G80. The only thing I don't like is the battery life. I get about 2 rounds out of it before having to recharge. I owned the G5 prior and it took double A batteries and I could have 4 sets of rechargeable batteries in my case and recharged them all once a month and I was set. Now you can't buy a Golf GPS that allows double A batteries, what a shame.

Very happy that I was able to purchase this GPS. I did a lot of research and was pleased with what I read. Unfortunately, Garmin no longer makes this model golf GPS, so I had to purchase used one. Living in NH, with temperatures in the 20s and lower and several inches of snow on the ground. I will have to wait several weeks before I'll have a chance to get on the course and actually use this GPS. I did update the GPS with my statistics and it worked with no problems. Also, I was able to find all of the courses I play in NH in the GPS's list of courses, which is an encouraging sign. I may have to come back later after I use the GPS for a few rounds.
