What an awesome film! Underappreciated and nearly forgotten. A wonderful adaptation of the Dracula story. Wonderful performances by Sir Laurence Olivier, Frank Langella and Donald Pleasence. In fact the entire cast. Great direction and production values, movie story moves along at a fine pace. Never dull or boring constantly engaging. Dracula 1979 Frank Langella
This is undoubtedly the best Dracula movie ever!!!! Even though I first saw it back in the 1990's - the movie stuck with me. I saw the most interesting documentary on making the movie also. They really took a lot of time and trouble to get some of the magnificent shots and effects (they didn't have all the graphics tech in 1989) Also the actors were active in making some of the decisions. One of my favorite versions of Dracula for one reason: Frank Langella. Frank is able to play menacing and terrifying but also sympathetic. He was able to bring a new depth to the Character of Dracula. Fine performances from the ensemble cast and beautiful music round out this telling.
