Affordable Blu-Ray Player that does it all! Bought it to have Blu-Ray Capabilites in the family room, with the ability to use a USB drive to watch AVI & MKV files. Another GREAT feature was the player's ability to read NTFS drives; 120 GB ext drive working perfectly for MKV playback! Let me tell you, nothing like being told an 8GB USB drive cannot fit a 4.37GB file, because it HAS TO BE formatted FAT32 in order for a player to read it (UGH). I have two Philips Philips DVP5992 (FAT32 and AVI only) also & was extremely disappointed by the Sony BDP-X37. I wouild say 95% of the videos I have tried, play fine on the Samsung BD-C5900, with amazing clarity. Connection & Setup took all of 15 minutes , using HDMI & Digital Audio. Connected to the network & upgraded firmware without a hitch. Easy GUI interface. Easy to switch between drives. Have not used it for internet video, so I cannot comment on that, but we'll just say it works. All in all, VERY PLEASED with this unit. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!Read full review
As stated by another this thing has it all, and Samsung is a great co., lasting products, I still have a Samsung component stereo that is approx. 35 years old and works like the day it was made. This has all the bells and whistles plus a very easy to use remote, HDMI cables are the key tho, and would be nice to have them included w/ the unit even if the price would be more, sure would beat having to go out and purchase them after you get the unit and see that reg. RCA cables make it just like watching a stereo vcr or reg. dvd, the HDMI cables ARE A MUST!!!!!
Was blown away by how nice the product was looked brand new I’m a very happy buyer.

I like the Samsung BD-C5900 blue-ray player so much that I bought a second one for my bedroom. One of the two players uses the Samsung WIFI adapter and the other one is hardwired connected to the modem. I do not get much of a hiccup with the signal because my broadband speed is 40-Mbps download and 5-Mbps upload speed. I like the applications that come with the player such as Netflix, HuluPlus, Block Buster, VUDU, YouTube, and others. I think it is an excellent piece of entertainment that will enhance a home theater setup. God bless you all and may you find peace with God through Jesus Christ His son this Christmas.
There is nothing objectionable about the performance of this player. It has been able to handle every DVD or Blu-Ray disc I have wanted to view.
