I bought the AKG K52s because I need to do quite a bit of audio transcription combined with video editing. My previous headphones, Logitech UEs, fell apart -- after 10 years of use. I wanted a "neutral", studio-style headphone, because I frequently encountered a situation where I could not understand a word or phrase I needed to transcribe, and I realise the "bass boost" on most headphones were contributing this this problem. For the price, the K52s are remarkable. The ear cups are almost comically large (I have fairly small ears), but they are very comfortable, and the build quality seems high. The sound, for transcribing and video editing, if very, very good. I also like using them for watching video shows on an iPad. I'm not so keen on them for music, but I didn't buy them for that purpose. Highly recommended.Read full review
