Instant coffee is putrid, and after looking at coffee machine prices and reviews, my husband and i realised that the brands that were our first choices were way out of our price range. I saw some ok reviews and some very bad reviews about the Breville, and probably would never have bought one because of them. Then this machine came up on eBay, about a 10 minute drive away. So I put in a bid. AND WE WON!!! Wooohooooo! You can't really go wrong for $15.50. At that price, who cares if it was a piece of s*#t? But hey, we were shocked. It worked well. Perfect, in fact. And another nice surprise - It makes pretty nice coffee (or maybe it's just my brilliant coffee making skill). The only problem I have with it, is the damn steam wand is too damn short! But it boils the water, and makes good steam (yes, steam, not air, like other similar quality brands). It makes nicer coffee than a lot of cafes I've been to, who, have great machines and trained baristas operating the machine (though judging by the burnt, bad tasting coffee, I have to question the claim that they are trained). Our Breville is easy to clean, a breeze to put back together and, it's very, very simple to operate. It boils and steams faster than our kettle, which is handy when your hanging for that first coffee of the day. It doesn't take up much space on the kitchen bench, but is easy to move around if required. The Breville Cafe Roma, in my humble opinion, is a good buy. Ours has no faulty parts or leaking seals, which were complained about in reviews I had read. I would rather a Wega, but alas, that won't happen anytime soon. So until that day comes, our Breville does the job and feeds our caffeine addiction with good coffee. Incase you can't tell, I like the little bugger and am glad it's ours.Read full review
This product was a much cheaper option than buying it from the shop. I saved about $70. The product is easy to use and unlike others I have used with a plastic switch at the front that does not turn easily this is simple to turn. The only problem i found is that to use a normal size coffee cup I need to take out the metal mesh of the drip dray to fit the cup in and replace it when finished. (not really a big problem). I would recommend this product for the price and quality.
had been working in cafes for 20 years and could have espresso coffee anytime i wanted, now i work where there isn't a coffee machine and i was missing my "fix"of a decent coffee. best machine for a home, used very frequently. easy to operate and maintain and makes a great cuppa. there is nothing i dislike about this machine.would highly recommend it to anyone considering buying a coffee machine for home.
Nice creamy cafe but it uses a lot of water ( I use mineral water) apart from that its easy to use and it gets hot very quickly and its Looks nice
very easy to use, compact and sturdy design, makes a great brew, easy to clean and looks good-modern-stylish on our bench
Received thanks 2 little plastic parts were damaged aesthetic only but have to expect that from factory seconds. The machine is good simple coffee maker, but only allows short cups to be filled under the coffee dispenser.
Great little unit. Easy to use. fantastic coffees. needs regular cleaning. Bought it to give to friends. this was my tenth unit I have bough.t Great price for a great product. much better product than other coffee machines.
