I did not even carry a 3 wood until now because I did not know what was going to happen or where it was going to go. Tried this club during a demo day and just had to get one. I still can not believe this club . I am hitting it off the ground and it goes past my best teed up Taylor Made Burner 9 degree drives. The best part is it is so easy to hit and it goes where I aim. This club has a slightly larger head so it can replace a driver. It's looks good at setup and the balance and feel of this club is perfect for my swing. I have a 5 wood on order now. Driver will no longer make it out of the bag unless it is put in a closet.
WOW! Long, Long, LONG. I retired a 4 year old 3 wood and repalaced it with the Diablo Octane. I am easily 30 yards longer with this club...amazing. It's easy to get up off the fairway and flies a mile off the tee. It's also very forgiving. I put a rotten swing on it yesterdy and still hit it 220 yards out and about 30 yards offline. At $103 brand new off of EBay, the price can't be beat. This club is STRONGLY recommended.
I really am enjoying this technology from Callaway. The 4 wood is doing so well for me that I also bought a 3 wood, which I didn't even carry before. I previously played a Ping G15, which is still a good club, it's just not as forgiving as the Callaway Octane. Distance is very comparable. I play the Callaway RAZR Driver, but did not like the RAZR fairway. The Octane beat it in every way. Same with the Diablo Edge, so don't even go there if you are after performance and can spend the extra $50. I am a mid-handicapper, in the teens, average swing speed. Callaway has really developed a winner with the Octane.
I am a relatively new player of golf and had initially, a few years and a very few rounds ago, determined that the Callaway Big Bertha Driver and Fairway Woods were a good fit for me. However, as my skill and accuracy have improved somewhat, my clubhead speed has not, and so I have one-by-one replaced the BBs with these Diablo Octane counterparts. Now I stand some chance of breaking 100 due to the larger sweet spot and more flexible shaft which serve my play.
Dollar for dollar one of the sweetest swinging fairway woods on the market that most probably haven't heard of. I will not go so far as to say this club will add 10+ yards as some manufacturers claim, but I will guarantee that this is the easiest swinging fairway wood that is affordable today. An enlarged sweet spot and light weight, Callaway Golf has a winner here. If you have a tight budget, but still want to step up to newer fairway woods, demo the Octane Diablo by Callaway Golf. Callaway Golf quality at an affordable price. What's not to love?
This is one fantastic club! I now have a Diablo Driver (13), 3, 4 and 7 Diablo fairway woods and 4, 5 and 6 Diablo hybrids in my golf bag, in addition to this terrific 5 fairway wood. Distance on all of my shots is greater, as is my accuracy. I wish I would have had these clubs at the beginning of the season. I am so satisfied that I'm looking to round out my set with a 9 fairway wood and a new set of Diablo irons. This club, these clubs, are forgiving and have helped tremendously with increased distance and accuracy. Nothing like the sweet sound of a great hit!
My wife has the Callaway Diablo Octane Driver and needed a new 3 wood, so for Valentines Day I bought her the matching Diablo Octane 3 wood on ebay. A few days later, after playing a round of golf with her new club, she returned home, and the first thing she said was how well she hit the ball with her new club. She liked her old Tight Lies 3 wood, but it was worn and tired and didn't like leaving the bag. old Tight Lies served my wife well, but it was time to retire and make room in the bag for the new Diablo Octane 3. She loves it.
Can't say enough about this club! Flies as straight as an arrrow with a very penetrating ball flight. I got the 4 wood to fill on shorter courses, so that I could add an extra wedge, and I am seriously thinking about making it a permanent fixture to my bag. Weight is good and the sound on a well hit shot cannot be beat! Fairly forgiving on mis hits as well.
I purchased the Women's Callaway Diablo Octane 4-wood because I wanted to replace my old Cobra 3- and 5-woods. I normally don't hit woods well off the fairway but this club is extremely easy to hit. It has helped shave off at least 2 to 3 strokes a round and I've only had it for a few weeks. It's a very forgiving club and goes pretty long and straight even on mis-hits. I would recommend it to anyone wanting more consistency hitting fairway woods.
I had been hitting Adams Golf Insight XTD A3 Boxer series fairway woods with an off-set, which was driving me crazy. The Octane does not have an off-set which I love. I have been hitting the ball straighter. I am getting 10-15 more yards with the Octane. The sound is somewhat of a low ping. A very quiet wood even hitting on the sweet spot. You think you had a mishit but not the case. Not a high trajectory but great carry. Have only been hitting both the 3 & 5 woods maybe 6-7 times and already love them. My handicap is a 15 but these woods would be great for any golfer.
