We decided to buy this lot of books, 12...all the same title...Brand New...to use as party favors for the older kids, along with jedi training manuals that came with light saber pens, for my son's Star Wars themed birthday party. It was great to find a wonderful set of the same book, all new, to use as party favors for the older kids. One of the things we struggle with at birthday parties are having fun, unique party favors that please the broad range of ages for kids that come to our parties, as we have three boys ranging in age from 4 - almost 11, with lots of family and friends with multiple kids in the same age groups. Usually we spend $ on common, dollar items for all the kids, but this year had party favors for three age groups, all following the Star Wars theme. All the kids received a clear cello bag, also purchased on ebay, with a Jedi Training Manual that came with a light saber pen (yet another ebay purchase), and for the older kids their bag each included one of these books. For the next age group, the kids received the same clear cello bags with the Jedi Training Manuals and a new Star Wars burger king figure toy, also new items purchased off ebay. For the 3 and under kids, they received bubbles and a Plush Star Wars burger king figure new in the bag. It worked out well using the clear cello bags, as the few girls could see the Star Wars figure toys and pick out the princesses and "girly" figures, while the boys could pick out their favorite figures as well. They party favors were a huge hit and everyone loved them! Each complete party favor bag only cost us a total of around $2, and what we loved too was that it looked like we spent much more on the party favors than we really did, thanks to ebay!Read full review
I wanted to get my budding three-year-old Jedi books about Star Wars, and ended up with five or six of them. This Wrede book is definately an adaptation for children who have started to read and can hold their attention for longer than fifteen minutes. I'm looking forward to reading this with my son, but I should have waited until he was five. The adaptation is pretty good, and there are still pictures from Episode One in the middle of the book. Unfortunately, for a three-year-old, the pics are the only thing holding his attention.
I bought this for my 10 year old son. He loved this book. He is a real Star Wars fan and now loves to read the story himself. Very well written!!
