As a result of their outstanding contributions to the success of RAF operations in WW2, the Regiment became a permanent part of the RAF. AUTHOR: A former member of the RAF Regiment, Kingsley Oliver served widely. He wrote the first full history of the Regiment in 1970 and also The History of the Worshipful Company of Saddlers. Now retired he lives in Bromley, Kent.
