Purchased The Roof Building Manual as I intend to design and owner build a house. Out of 118 pages only about 42 have some useful information on them. 71 pages just have bevel angles that can be used to set adjustable bevel for the correct angles for the various roof parts, sure this could useful but it starts at 5 degree pitch and increments 1 degree a page up to 75 degree pitch. I would assume that when you are after information about building a roof you have the ability to do some simple calculations and work these angles out yourself. No mention at all about roof trusses, which is what I was hoping to learn about, although they are regularly shown in other books by this author. For me this book taught me a little but no where near enough, too simple, too basic but lots of nice hand drawn pictures.Read full review
