I suffer from Panic Disorder and Generalized Anxiety and just recently heard of being Sensory Defensive. I've always been the type of person who hates bright lights, hates when the temp is a little hot or a little cold, can't hear bad/sad news, can't sit in movie theaters because the combo of darkness, bright moving lights, and booming sounds overwhelms my nervous system. This book explains every degree/symtom of sensory defensiveness and tells you why the condition started and ways to manage it. The breathing excercises alone are worth more than the price of this book. This book is bookmarked to that chapter on my bedside table. If you suffer from Panic Disorder (and if you do, I feel your pain), your brain may be overly sensitive to this world we live in: this book will give you tools to help you deal with it.Read full review
Sharon Heller is brilliant. For all of us who have no physiological filter for incoming stimuli, this is a must-read.

Great Book...Very interesting read. I feel for the children and adults who suffer from this disorder.
