As a guitar player the reputation of BOSS and Roland for price and quality were not foreign to me. I chose this pedal over DD-7 due to the price and the features I needed. This pedal is very easy to use, just plug it in and play with the settings until you get a sound you want no tricks. There is nothing I dislike about this pedal so far. Having used multi-fx all my life and finally moving onto individual stomp boxes I would say this pedal makes the integration easy and sounds even better than the ME-70 I own.
I bought this Boss DD-3 to replace a "Made in Japan" version that died on me. For those who don't know, the Boss DD-3 has been a staple on many pedal boards for those wanting a delay pedal without the frills and bells and whistles. Whilst not as long as some other delays out there, the 800ms setting should be perfectly adequate most players, whilst the shorter settings for delay can give you a pseudo slapback reverb with a little tweaking, and there are settings in there for almost anything in between. When my MIJ version went down I felt like my pedal board was missing something. So when I purchased a newer Taiwanese made one, with some skepticism, it fit that hole left on my board from the previous one. The anoraks and ubertechnotrolls geeks out there my be able to discern the difference between the two, but for what it is, the newer version does a perfectly good job, just as the Japanese version did.Read full review
