I've been a Tektronix user for many years but after my old mainframe up and died, I couldn't afford to get another decent Tek scope. My old boss made the switch to Chinese digital scopes and on his recommendation I bought a Rigol scope 2 years ago. Not bad performance but it's impossible to conduct low voltage RF measurements due to the tremendous internal noise of such scopes. I wanted to get back into the Tek Analog scopes but I was concerned due to the relative age and the need for refurbishment of power supplies, etc... After viewing many choices, I found this seller on eBay and I'm very happy I did because now I am able to do my measurements and not be restrained by low quality Chinese digital scopes.

Great scope looks and functions like nearly new with mostly intuitive controls. Separate intensity control for digital display and signal display. Very stable triggering. Tektronix website has free downloadable operation and service manuals.

2465ADM is a 2465A with dmm and freq counter options included. Scope BW exceeds 350MHz, At VHF, with any scope, how one uses probes becomes critical to getting good fidelity. The freq counter, by design, only works upto about 200MHz, part of Tek's way of saying don't use a 350M scope to look at 350M. The freq counter defaults to enhancing the accuracy of the delay time meter of the delayed time base system when not asked to measure a freq on CH 1 or 2. The DMM works thru banana jacks (not channel BNCs) and offers better than typical handheld dmm performance. Has continuity buzzer, as well as hi & low ohms, low for not forward biasing Si junctions, hi for turning them on. These scopes are 30 years old now, so if you haven't replaced its lithium memory backing battery, it is essential to have it done soon (not an end user's task). One thus should place a higher value on a 2465A with a new battery and fresh calibration.Read full review

There are two brands of scopes I will own... Tektronics and Hewlett Packard. Yes there are some other good ones out there. But in my years of repairing electronics, I have found that Tektronics and HP are the two that are the most accurate, the most reliable and the most sturdy. You cannot go wrong with either of these two brands. The best part is that these two brands of Oscilloscope are available to the casual home repairman and HAM Radio operator at fantastically low prices for good used oscilloscopes on ebay. ebay is my first stop for test equipment and electronic gear.

This was top of the line some years ago. I wanted to upgrade my work bench with a digital scope and this model had good specs and a reasonable price. There are a lot of these around with a wide price range. Look carefully at the price vs condition and chose wisely. I think the 2465A is a good step up from analog to digital.

Recommend the seller. Good secure packaging. Arrived safely and scope was anticipated. Later model than what I had been looking at and more features. The service manual and being calibrated were real pluses to an already good value. I like the machine very much and it is a real nice addition to my work bench.

Needed more bandwidth but for a good price. Just what the doctor ordered. Upgraded from a Tektronix 465 100mhz scope. Scope came as advertised.
