If you’ve never plugged into an ac30 it sounds very articulate. You can hear every string individually in a chord is the only way I can describe it. It has the beautiful clean sound, and it goes to dirty like Brian May. And believe me everywhere in between. Most classic rock is a Marshall plexi, everything else classic rock sounds like an ac30. Think of the early Beatles tunes, but it also distorts very well. Don’t let the master volume fool you, the gain knob only effects the gain not the tone. And don’t let that 30 in ac30 lull you into- maybe this amp won’t be loud enough. I have it next to a 100 plexi and I’m not sure which is louder. Ya it’s that close. Metal guys won’t like this. It’s not a jcm 800 with the gain on 10 and the bass cranked. Has just as much” touch sensitivity” as my plexi too. Maybe more. It’s my new favorite amp. My plexi just sits next to it. The more I play it the less I like my plexi, and that’s a great amp!Read full review

I've been a Beatle-maniac all my life, and the Vox AC30 was the last piece in the puzzle in recreating their sound. I thought just buying a Beatle guitar would do it, (Gretsch Country Gent) but nothing came close to that special "chimey" sound that cannot be imitated. I haven't tried any of my other guitars in the AC30, but I'm willing to bet it would make the same difference in your sound as it did in mine. Yeah Yeah Yeah

I had to watch several YouTube videos & read online reviews about this amp & so far all of them are positive. I knew I had to try one to really validate what those positive reviews are. I’ve been playing it since it’s arrival & yes, this is the amp that’s really amazing in tone & those positive reviews are true after all. Try it to really convince yourself!

My AC30C2 is a Great Amp! The range of sounds that you can coax out of it is amazing! Also, built like a tank, it will last forever! Has that vintage VOX look that you see in old film and photos of the great bands of the 60's and 70's!

I LOVE tthe Tone of this amp. very versatile and can get reasonable dirty. i love the ability to clean up with my guitar volumes nob and how strum sensitive this amp is. The amp looks great. a couple things i dont like about this amp is the noise it produces. especially when going though the Effects loop. with a few up grades this amp will be amazing. speakers are great!
This is a tank. 80+ pounds of tone machine. The main channel is clean and pure. The top boost is crystal with a predictable break into overdrive. By far the best amp I’ve played.

If you can get the reliability issues ironed out this amp is incredible. It does everything well. You won't find a better sounding all around amp. Does Rock, Pop, Country, anything. The overdrive is just beautiful. VERY articulate sound, you hear EVERY not clearly and evenly. The 30 watt rating is perfect for a band situation. It can reach that lovely natural compression at a much more suitable volume level than say a Marshall. Nothing against Marshall, I own a half dozen old/new ones and they are all great in their own place. They just have to be played so loud to get them to sound 'right'. Seriously, this is going to be my 'voice'. I have finally settled on the AC30 sound as my favorite all around amp. LOVE THIS AMP!!
Input jacks had to be re-installed they were almost completely out. For some reason shipped with speaker wires disconnected. Tolex damage on back and missing screws for back plate .

It sounds very good. Sounds like a bigger size amp, but it isn’t but I’m very satisfied with the sound. So.
