I bought this since I have no idea to properly play the keyboard. Overall, I think this product is perfect to bridge that gap until I learn. This thing is really fun if you ask me, with tons of sounds, and tons of settings, you can make some pretty snappy stuff with this! I believe there are 30 scale options, so the guess work is done by it, not me (the person who doesn't know how to play keyboard). The only thing that requires some practice is getting used to where on the touch pad you're pressing, and the threshold between notes in the scale. I've been playing with it for three days now and I'm already starting to get it down. You can also plug this into your DAW, and play loops right into it, so making tracks with this thing is rather simple. Overall, I think this thing is a perfect addition to your studio, besides, it doesnt even take up that much space!Read full review
I've had it for a 1/2 hour and it's a blast! I have a full size korg synth and I'm having just as much fun on the kaossilator. Plus it does things my synth can't do especially with wave-shaping, manipulation as well. A killer addition to my studio, well worth the investment if your into electronic music.

Korg Kaossilator Pro Plus + Synthesizer Looper Synth purchased from PROAUDIOSTAR. Well where to start??? First Download and print the manuals at korg!! There are 3 of them you want them all!! First users, then midi, then pc mac software. You may want to print 2 copy’s of the sounds section of the manual. That way you can make notes on the sounds you like. Then head over to youtube!! Key in search Korg Kaossilator Pro Plus +. Korg has a channel over there that is cool!! Some sounds and setup help. Others have production tips and loops. There is also a Korg Kaossilator Pro Plus + forum too… one is at the korg site. Then Let’s try price!! The best price is with PROAUDIOSTAR!! I purchased mine for $275.00 shipped!! And it was brand new in the box first run.. I called KORG to make sure on this.. and yes PROAUDIOSTAR is a korg dealer!! Ok this unit is hard at first to setup…. Yes you need some music skills… but most kids these days should be able to run this!! Note; 1 make sure you purchase at least one. first rate first run 32gb sdhc grade 10 speed sd card before you set this up the first time. This will enable you to save your beats loops.. and user settings for future use. Note; 2 make sure you have a real good amp speaker system…. Most good guitar amps these day’s have ok setups…. But pa speakers and mixer is a good idea… this thing rocks and has real low bass so make sure you have at least (2) 12 inch drivers and 150 watts rms. (2) 15 inch drivers per cab and 2 cabs for stereo. would be the best and 300 - 600 watts rms per channel…. Yes it has an headphone jack… but make sure you have good headphones too!! Note; 3 there is no wrong way on music!! Yea this can loop some cool sounds… and some cool drum beats!! This does have midi controls for advanced users… so it can be in your midi string on your big synth setup!! Note; 4 a good mic for sampling voice is a great idea!! This was on one of the you tube video’s… he was making the sounds with his voice for the beat… yea kind of bobby McFerrin type. But it was a cool loop for sure!! Note; 5 stacking sounds works on single button!! Not sure how many can be stacked yet… but I have 4 on each…. Nice to have drum line and base line together,,,, Note; 6 see the you tube video on the measures setup…. Here is where knowing music structure comes in handy. Drum bass beats as a 1/16th note. Then stack several measures worth of the rest. Where I am with this….. This unit is close to a drum machine so for backing tracks in a studio yes this has some cool back beats!! Also look at a pc or mac and a midi controller keyboard…. $3500.00 and you could have a full synth work station on pc. Or just buy a Jupiter 80 Roland… $2700.00 to $6000.00 depending where you find one. Yes Proaudiostar has them too!! So Korg Kaossilator Pro Plus + Synthesizer Looper Synth purchased from PROAUDIOSTAR I say yes!! Add this to your setup!! KC in IowaRead full review
My favorite synthesizer. Works well with the Kaoss pad and guitar pedals. Sounds great through the PA or keyboard amp. It has a built in Vocoders so you can do Zapp covers.

Quite a fun little piece. I'm a guitarist who has a few friends that have recently became interested in synths and honestly I liked the sound but didnt really want all the keyboards like they were getting. With this I can build drum beats, some real nice backing music for playing guitar. Or even record guitar into it and throw a nice synth lead over it. I know I am not even tapping into part of its potential but for what I've used it for since I've had it, it has been great.
While better suited for DJ ‘ing and live perfomance, it has some fun things to mix in to a recording... A nice vocoder is in this thing. It’s jut fun to play with...

The original Korg Kaossilator Synthesizer is a very minimal synth compared to what the model has evolved into today. Overall, this style of synthesizer is fun for anybody to pick up and play. If you have any extensive knowledge of an actual musical instrument, then you probably would like a Kaossilator. I immediately sold mine when I found out the looper only spanned 8 bars (16 in some cases, but you won't hear a count). I honestly would not recommend one of these to any of my musically inclined friends. A pretty obvious analogy would be like buying any Nintendo video game system and expecting Playstation 3 graphics.
I love this thing. I'd recommend this as your first piece of kit or as a valuable addition to someone's studio full of gear. The presets are money and the ability to sample and manipulate audio couldn't be easier. Tons of tutorials exist online as well as communities dedicated to Korg products will help you get up and running with this unit in no time. Plus it's just so visually appealing you can't keep your hands off it.
