Mike Deodato made a big splash in the mid-'90s with a style combining a solid grasp of anatomy; layouts bristling with dynamic energy; and brash, trendsetting qualities that set him apart as a visionary that Marvel could build around for the rest of the decade and beyond. With his startling work on Warren Ellis' Thor setting the pace, Deodato's later triumphs on Incredible Hulk, Amazing Spider-Man and Thunderbolts set the stage for his jaw-dropping visuals on Dark Avengers. • Great art, great artist.

Always looking forward to a great art book, esp when one is familiar with the artist from previous work, interactions and the like. Deodato never fails to impress... and this book is just that - impressive. Unlike Romita Jr. with square jawlines and such, the lines and style is instantly recognizable as a Deodato drawing... This is a super addition to anyone's collection, be it comic art books, artist specific, anyone who has a good appreciation for a damn good book.

  • Great showcase of Mike's work!

A lot of content and back stories. Was vaguely familiar with Mike's work before buying this and didn't realize how prolific his career was/is. The fact that I got if for half price was even better.
