A very useful lens when you just want to take a camera with one lens rather three - such as a wide angle, a standard 50/55mm and a 90mm telephoto. Saves carrying 3 lenses and makes it easier to take photos in car shows/ home shows etc where there are many people and it can be inconvenient to stop and change lenses. Performance is quite good.
I was indeed plesantly surprised not only with the price of this lens, but it's immaculate over all condition---I'd say without hesitation,MINT.In relation to its quality, sharpness and resolution I can't pronounce any verdict, simply because I haven't as yet had the opportunity to test it on my film camera. However, I have no doubt that it will perform splendidly as most Nikon lenses!
I have a 18-55 and thought the 28 to 85 would give me close to the same results. Well I'm not totally disappointed but 15 to 28 makes a difference on the total view of the photo. I'm still happy with the results and it works perfect with my Nikon D7000. I haven't downloaded any photos at this time, too busy experimenting with a new camera and lens.

Very good lens. Very versatile. Works perfect in film and digital. I feel it a bit heavy, but I prefer this than to carry a 3 or 4 lenses. It feels SOLID, not like the new plastic lenses. The macro is very good, but works great at 28mm, so, yes you can take pictures very close to the subject but at 28mm you see it a bit far away. But if I put it in my Nikon D7000, the 28mm becomes a 42mm and starts to be a good macro lens. I like it very much.
Perfect state. Gives as good pictures as can be expected. It is a nice Nikkor zoom.
