I recently moved over from hasselblad h series to the Mamiya AFDII for the various obvious reasons. Before buying a wide angle ( A lens I don't use everyday) I thought I'd just buy a MF version and see how it was. The lens is great, it's light, it was silly cheap on ebay and it performs really well. Suddenly with the Mamiya 645 AFD II system I can carry a kit full of lenses and not be weighed down too much, this lens lets you compose at a bright 2.8 and the simply press the stop down lever on the lens side and it's at your pre set f stop.. It's sharp not soft and the edges are really good, using a 22mp back there is a 1:1 crop factor so if the edges are off RIGHT at the edge, the chip doesn't see it. I really like this lens and it's perspective, a real keeper.. it makes me want to invest more money now and buy the AF version...Read full review
This lens is super-sharp. I am thrilled with the quality of the images captured.

I bought this item for my Mamiya 645 pro tl. I've got another lens, it's a 80mm genuine Mamiya lens.
The older manual focus lens are a GREAT budget choice . I use this one on a Mamiya 645AF with very nice results. Just set it to manual open it up fully....focus (can use the focus indicators in the veiw finder if you like) , stop it back down to the Fstop you want to use and snap. Alot cheaper than the AF lens ,with very little extra effort involved to use it.
