Not digitally fast, but, oh....so close!
The rage nowadays in the computer world is digital hard drives...those storage units that have no moving parts..originally ushered in as "thumb drives" or "USB Sticks" but now grown into full fledged SATA and PCIe storage drives. Supposedly designed for lightning fast access to stored data, they "promise" high speed computing for the average consumer. The fact is the computer is only as fast as it's integrated parts; CPU, Cache, RAM, FSB, and storage device. Any breakdown in that chain will result in a slow machine - even with digital storage. Enter the WD Velocirapter series of 10,000 rpm disk drives; faster than the 7,200 RPM "standard drives," 200,000 hours mean-time-before-failure operation, quiet, and supportive of older SATA-capable machines as well as the modern i9 and Ryzen-powered speedsters. Regardless of the machine's capabilities, data retrieval is faster; it is almost as good as digital storage and on a par with hybrid disk drives, all at a fraction of the cost. Granted, slightly more expensive than "standard drives," but considering a standard drives' MTBF rate is 100,000 hours (and in some cases 150,000 hours), for the bang-for-the-buck, the WD Velocirapter is more durable and dependable.
