Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best Selling in Lenses
It is nice and soft wide open, good for portrait at f3.5, while at f4 already gets sharp enough for many applications. Great at any aperture between f4-16. In macro range the lens changes focal length as you move towards the extreme but if you keep f4 - f5.6 it still gives a nice bokeh and sharp in the centre if you stay around 1m working distance. Great all around lens, it is smaller than it looks on the images, all metal, so it has some weight. I like the range it covers. At 35mm, f16 focus to the foreground and still you get sharpness all the way. Use live view if possible and check focus. For film applications is great, On digital has more then enough resolution for 24 megapixel or more. Surprisingly good at any focal length in the centre; its as sharp as modern zooms or better, but fails in the contrast / flare domain, so direct light into the lens will cause internal reflection, and lower the overall contrast.Read full review
