Snooker, Pool & Billiards Cue Tips

Snooker, Pool and Billiard Cue Tips

Snooker, pool and billiard are all games played by manipulating balls on a table with the end of a long stick. Naturally, due to the high impact experienced at the tip of the cue stick, cue tips can get worn out or damaged with extended use. Therefore, cue tips need to be replaced fairly often.

Cue Tip Types

Before purchasing replacement cue tips for your pool cues, it is important to know what type of cue tip you need. To check for this, simply check the ferrule at the end of the cue and see what cue tip type it corresponds with. It is often made with brass. The types of cue tips available are screw on cue tips, glue on cue tips and push on cue tips.

Cue Tip Replacement and Maintenance

Push on and screw on cue tips are fairly easy and straightforward to replace. Glue on tips require a few more steps when it comes to replacing. You’ll also need several materials, such as something to scrape and cut with, sandpaper and glue. There are cue tip replacement kits available that can make things easier. To maintain the pool cue tip so it lasts longer, it is recommended to apply chalk to it regularly during your snooker games.
