I have had mine now for a little over a week. I bought the keyboard doc also. Having the doc does make typiing easier but if your a fast typer like i a the cursor goes else where for some reason. I have also noticed that if i unplug just the doc to charge when i snap it backon the cursor is gone. I have to shut the computer down and restart it to make the cursor reapear. Other then that the doc makes holding the tablet easier and feel more like a familiar device. This is my first experience with any tablet or the android market. Until i got this one i didnt know waht to expect. Im a windows familar person but android is very similar and very easy to use. After a couuple hours of playing and tinckering i got the hang of the android tablet thing. The pad itsself is great. Great picture ok sound the sound is on the back which makes it off. The tablet glides effortlessly. I did get a update to the 4.1 jellybean so its not on the icecream any more. I dont know if its the server or the tablet but occaionally the internet lags and i have to wait for the page to load. Im not complaing just saying what i see and feel about this product. I bought the tablet new and the doc new spending after tax around 600 us dollars. My son loves it and wants one.Read full review
A great, affordable Android tablet, with keyboard dock. Asus did a good job in keeping bloatware to a minimum and letting Android's native features shine through. The physical keyboard attachment and trackpad work very well with the Android OS, making it one of the best netbooks I've ever used. This is just as well though as the software keyboard bundled with the system is virtually unusable and one of the worst I've seen. The keys are long and thin, forcing you to finger-type, instead of using it the way you would the iPad's software keyboard. I ended up buying and installing the tablet edition of the Thumb Keyboard, which has a full-sized mode that works better for natural typing. I have some issues with the build quality of the keyboard attachment. The matte plastic does feel cheap and, even though not glossy, attracts fingerprints. It reminds me a lot of the HP Mini 1000. The tablet is also a great deal heavier than the keyboard, causing the device to tip over if you're using the device on a couch or bed. Even on a table, you have to avoid pushing the screen too far back. I purchased this device because it was the only quad-core tablet available that came with ICS (Android 4.0) out of the box. It works well and would recommend it to another early adopter. To the rest, I'd recommend waiting for other devices with better build quality.Read full review
Here is my problem. This is a great value and the qulaity is outstanding. I love the front and rear camera arrangement. But---I now have to learn my way around the Android operating sustem (OS). My PC is Windows and I've been using this OS for many years. I purchased an iphone two years ago and am now finally comfortable with the Apple OS. Now I have the Android OS to learn and without the book I just bought and the one-half hour lesson I paid for at Staples, it would still be in the off position on my desk. That aside, if one is comfortable getting around the Android OS, this is a killer value.
It is just great, so nice. Having used my old iPad 1 for 2 years, it is such a nice change. All the features, Memorystick, HDMI etc. so nice. It fully lives up to my expectations. Not that the iPad is bad, but the the weight and finish of tthe ASUS are smoth and nice. The browser is terrible slow. I have tried Chrome, Dolphin and others. They all have the same problem. Slow and it does not response as nice a the iPad. That is however NOT ASUS's problem but Android.
This is one awesome tablet, I absolutely love it. It is a beautiful color and I bought the keyboard docking station for it and it makes it like a laptop, only smaller. What makes it nice is you can add apps to it from the android market which makes it even more useful depending on what you need. Recommend this product to anyone looking for a tablet. Like it over the iPad anyday
