I'm very happy with it. We purchased it as a replacement for our previous Bialetti Moka Express which was good, but after several cleanings the aluminium started to oxidize and I wasn't sure if it's still safe to use. I was wondering the whole time if it's going to make any better coffee than French press or just pouring hit water into finely ground beans. It does. I wasn't sure if I'm not just imagining things so we did a blind test with my wife - the same coffee, same amount of coffee, same amount of hot water, one just poured into the mug with coffee and second through AeroPress and we could both taste the difference. It's quick to use and very quick and easy to clean, which we really appreciate. We also have Nespresso machine and we use both, Nespresso when in a hurry and AeroPress when not. Can it beat the best barista made coffee from the best cafe? No, it can't. But to be honest it easily beats many coffees from lower quality cafes. We noticed that - at least for us - it works best with very finely ground beans. Sometimes we even further grind coffee which was already bought ground. I pour hot water (not 80 degrees as suggested but as hot as I can) and after 10 seconds of stirring I squeeze hard (it takes about 20 seconds to make coffee). This combination works well for us, I'm sure that other people can adjust the process to their desired taste. For the price, we're very happy with the quality of AeroPress and the quality of coffee that we can get.Read full review

I have had mine for about two years and have purchased additional units as gifts to family and friends. Some even take them when they travel both for camping or for international travel when a good cup of coffee is hard to get. The product is durable and works very efficiently. The trick is to separate the two plunger components and store them that way so the rubber seal does not loosen. Other than that, they should last for many years. Some friends have purchased the stainless steel filter but I prefer the paper as it seems to spread the drips better. It takes a few cups for you to work out how you prefer your coffee. Leave it stand in the device for longer and you get stronger coffee. I stuck my stirrer in the draw after about a month as I didn't find that stirring made any real difference. The most important thing I can suggest is that you buy fresh, and by fresh I mean oily beans, and that you have a grinder (I now use an electric one though electric grinders, not blade choppers, are a bit harder to find) and that you grind one scoop of beans just prior to using them. That way you get maximum oil extraction and way better coffee. Pre-ground coffee is ok but once you try the freshly ground you will never go back. Great product and highly recommended. It makes an excellent gift that just keeps on giving.Read full review

I have two of these (one for home, one for office) and bought a third as a gift for a friend. It's very easy to use, and makes great-tasting coffee. It's less bitter than espresso, quick to make, quite forgiving of variations in technique, water temperature etc, and you just eject the "puck" of grounds into the bin - no mess. I prefer Americano-style coffee, which it makes perfectly. Two tips to get the best tasting coffee: 1. Use freshly-ground beans. As the Aeropress only needs a coarse grind, you can buy a cheap Sunbeam conical burr grinder for maybe $50, which is more than adequate. 2. Use the Aeropress "upside down". Google for detailed instructions. Pair with a Porlex mini hand grinder for great coffee while camping etc.

I was gifted one from a family member and now I have bought an extra to permanently have one at home and one at the office. This contraption makes having a decent cup of coffee easy, when there is no espresso machine available. This is a life saver in workplaces that only offer instant coffee. I personally recommend the AeroPress over a french press thanks to the use of a vacuum press eliminating the time needed to let the coffee brew. Would recommend this to anyone who can't stand instant coffee, has no access to an espresso machine or doesn't have the time to mess around with a french press.

Mere words cannot describe how much I love my Aeropress. Best coffee I've ever been able to make and have ever tasted. Costs not much, simple to use, dead easy to clean and built to last probably for decades. A genius level design imo
