Vintage Diecast Boats & Ships

Vintage Diecast Boats and Ships

Taking to the high seas is the dream of many a kid, and it’s a dream that often stays with us in some form or another into adulthood. For some folks it’s both possible and sufficient to just buy a real, regular boat, float around on it a few times every summer, and call it a day. For others, a real boat is not possible, or simply not enough. For those people, collecting things to do with ships and ship life might be a lifelong hobby, starting in childhood with toy boats and suchlike.

Vintage

For the children of yesteryear, vintage diecast boats and ships can bring back memories of playing on a playmat or in the bath, and they can continue to add to childhood collections. There are also plenty of model ships as well. Those diecast ships tend to be less brightly coloured and more modelled after real shipping freighters and ships of war. Some of these are even encased in their own display cases. On the other end of the spectrum are vintage diecast boats that are mean to be played with, which will float and which don’t have any small and/or fragile parts on it. There are also vintage candle boats, which are boats you set floating on a body of water with a candle on them. A mass of these at night can create a great atmosphere.

Diecast

Die casting is a production technique that is still very much used for toys and collector’s items today, and if you’re looking to expand your collection or just find a gift for a kid in your life, you can have a look at regular diecast boats and ships. Children of all ages will all be able to find something to suit here, especially boating enthusiasts who just can’t get enough.
