B & O speakers tend to work where most others don't. I'm in a small flat, and these take up so little room, but give a high quality sound. Would love to hear them in a bigger environment. The pair I bought are from 1999. They need a sub woofer as far as I'm concerned. Would rather have bought the first series which are true 3 way speakers as I do have a sub. The first generation are known to be less strong in bass, but better in all other respects. Much more audiophile than later versions. I believe by 1995 B & O were tampering with bass improvement, at the cost of overall tone. I have other B and O speakers and can't wait to get back into a house where I can employ them again. I will most likely move on from the BL8000 at that time. Until then, they are doing a fine job. They are very listenable, no fatigue over long periods, but they don't give a great depth to the image. This could be due to the placement in my flat but I doubt it.Read full review
