Author Biography
Robert Harris Brevig, designer and host of this Web Site, author of Beyond Our Consent, and many of the articles presented herein, has a background of experience with the U.S. Army's Special Forces (Airborne). He served in both Headquarters and A-Team capacities and also volunteered to participate in developing the Pentagon's first experimental, Top Secret , European Long Range Reconnaissance Patrols (LRRP- [ Eyes behind the lines]-Airborne). Their mission was to deploy by parachute, or other means, and infilitrate behind the enemy's lines for the purpose of securing strategic Combat Intelligence information and/or undertaking shock operations . His Special Operations unit's cold-war mission also included the secret development of Special Atomic Demolition Munitions (SADM- tactical nukes ) at strategic locations along East/West European borders in the event of a feared Soviet land invasion. Then, by employing escape and evasion tactics by which to survive their intrusions into unfriendly territory, return to their own friendly lines. Joint training exercises often included German Special Forces, British Commando and French Foreign Legionnaires. Brevig was awarded British and German parachutist wings for his participation in these operations. His military career was unceremoniously interrupted by severe injuries he sustained in a terrifying plunge from and aircraft at an altitude of 1200 feet (nearly 400 meters) when both his parachutes failed to fully deploy. After a lengthy recovery and eventual separation, his continuing adventures led him on an odyssey across Western and Eastern Europe and into the Middle East as a news journalist based in Teheran, Iran when the Arab/Israeli, Six-Day War , broke out in 1967. Other career endeavors have included exhibition parachutist, boat builder, Pacific island plantation management, cultural exchange and project development with indigenous people, camping, recreational and community facilities development and management, selective logging of exotic woods and native artifacts procurement. He has since traveled extensively, observed carefully, and awakened considerably, while enjoying such pastimes as flying, sport parachuting, sailing, diving for gold, and exploring megalithic sites of the South Pacific along the way. He has also, for nearly thirty years, given much serious study to the subjects on which he writes and is considered to be devoted and qualified, if self-styled and self-educated, CURIOLOGIST . His recently authored work, Beyond Our Consent: A History of Secret Power, Deception, And Abandonment of Freedom In America , appears currently as an E-book in his Nationmakers Web Site. The second book in a trilogy, The Undiscovered Country, will soon appear as a new addition to this site. A third book Escape To Understanding, will follow in due course. He presently lives with his partner in life in a beautifully secluded valley by the sea on the island of Maui in the Hawaiian archipelago.
