When it arrived, the side mesh refused to come out and then it did, however it knocked something loose inside (a plastic clip) it proceeded to bend alot of the foils as it was removed, later the pressure from the constricted pipe made the turbine for outputting air break and make a very uncomfortable clicking noise with every rotation, once pressure is relieved by removing the pipe it works properly again, highly unrecommended, would have cost me more to take back for repair, so bought a new one that's QUIETER! AND doesn't click. If your going to not use the given kit that constricts airflow and not put pressure on the turbine you might get away with this and while it takes a bit of time to cool the room it also GUZZLES water like crazy, we needed to refill it at LEAST 8 times a day 3 trips to the tap with the included container. More work than it's worth I'm sureRead full review

This cools down the immediate area very well. Our apartment is about 48 square metres. It doesn't cool the entire apartment, but it does cool the living area (about 30 square metres) down to a tolerable temperature on a boiling day. If you can't get a split system or window unit installed, this is a very decent option. The only downside is that it's horrendously inefficient, but who cares about that during a hot summer, eh? I measured the power consumption with a power meter and it uses about 1200W continuously while the compressor is on (which is basically all the time in a large living area). If using this in a bedroom at night, be aware that this is a loud unit. I consider myself a heavy sleeper, and even I had trouble sleeping with the noise of this thing. We've never had to drain the water once, which is nice.Read full review

Pros It cools the biggest of rooms very quickly Easy to use The remote control works really well it doesn't need to have line of sight to work. The fan inside of it actually pushes the air around unlike most portable air conditioners. Cons The dam thing is like a jet taking off, it's so loud. I have had other portable air conditioning units before and they didn't work as well but we're a lot quiter. It also is not the best on the power consumption but I don't think that there is any portable air conditioners that are very efficient.

We recently had our main home air-conditioning unit fail, and needed a replacement fast. The Bio Portable Air-Conditioner was the perfect option to keep us cool, even our large room. There is a little turbulent air noise with the fan at max speed, but the compressor is quiet, and it works well.
