The UFO has bluetooth 4.1 technology with is more energy efficient than the R+, which uses bluetooth 4.0 technology. The response of the buttons of the UFO is almost instantaneous while there is a slight delay after the button press in the R+. The R+ has the NFC enabled quick pairing feature, which is absent in the UFO. The R+ also has a micro SD card slot to play mp3 tracks stored on a micro SD card of up to 32 GB capacity. I particularly like this feature because I can spare my phone when the battery is low. The UFO does not have a micro SD card slot. The R+ comes with a built in equalizer that has 3 settings (Pop, Rock and Flat I'm guessing) that can be toggled by pressing the volume up and down buttons at the same time. The UFO has 2 settings: the normal mode and the 3D effect mode. The interface of the UFO is similar to the Bluedio BS-2/3 where you need to press and hold the center button to turn on the device, and hold it even longer for pairing. The R+ only has to be pressed once and it automatically turns on and pairs with the last device or goes into pairing mode. This could be a little annoying because it can accidentally be turned on when something bumps against the button. The LED color scheme for turning ON/OFF and pairing of the UFO and the R+ is different. The brightness and behavior of the lights are also different. I particularly like that the LED lights of the UFO are a lot dimmer and blink with a greater delay than those of the R+, so that it is not too disturbing when in a dark room.Read full review
